• Work done is a way of saying energy has been
  transferred or transformed.

Here are some examples of work being done.
The climber is doing work lifting himself up the
climbing wall.
This person is doing work riding his bike.

• The weight lifter is doing work when he raises
  these dumb bells.

• Work is always done when a force is used to move
  something through a distance against an opposing
  force.
• Work done, just like energy, is measured in
  joules. If no energy is transferred then no work
  is done.
