Vetting Inspection Feedback Forms
- Based on comments and cooperation with our
membership, The INTERTANKO Vetting Committee
developed a Standard Inspection Feedback form
several years ago. - The purpose of this form is to supply
confidential information that can be used in a
constructive statistical manner to assist in
our ongoing discussions with Port State Control,
Oil Major Vetting Departments, and establishments
such as CDI and SIRE. - Part 1 of the questionnaire relates to Commercial
Vetting Inspections, (Part 2 relates to Port
State Control inspections forms a separate
presentation). - We encourage INTERTANKO members to supply their
vessels with a copy of this form with the request
that the forms be completed for each inspection
as appropriate. - We also request that these forms be completed on
each occasion that a commercial or PSC inspection
takes place whether the results are positive or
negative.

15Members Additional Feedback to Consider
- It is accepted that interested parties wish to
assure their corporate reputations and they have
a right to expect their contractor to use their
best endeavors to attain that level of
servicebut the standard of observations needs
to be maintained.
16Additional Items to Consider
- Stay with the Programme - Ask the Question
- Utilise experience, keep observations factual
not interpretations. - Yes or No Answers by Inspectors
- As stand alone answers these can cause
difficulties for the owner/operator if these are
without qualification. - The Benefits of the Close out Meeting
- - Posting of comments after the inspection, the
number of
observations/comments tend to
increase once the final report comes out - - This lowers morale onboard
- - Defeats the object of the close out
meeting - - Increases the possibilities of
misunderstandings - Observe the Terminal also not just the ship
- Critical aspect of the ship/shore interface
