The main idea of the unit

• The unit talks about the change of the world
  climate. More snow melts because of global
  warming. This can cause a lot of damage to the
  Earth.
• There was a conference about the climate and
  pollution in Kyoto in Japan. Scientists began
  making airplane reservations.
• One scientist thought that it was better to go by
  train. Airplanes cause pollution which results in
  the change of the world climate. Others joined
  him and they had very exciting experiences on the
  train.

Connecting sentences with and / but

• We use and to connect two sentences which have

• When the subject of both sentences is the same,
  we can put a pronoun in the second sentence.
