• 150 Mvar Thyristor Controlled Reactor, TCR
• 130 Mvar 8 harmonic filters

Commissioning results

• Load current pulsating every 14 seconds from
  zero to 4500 A
• Voltage response Voltage fluctuations below /-
  0.3 (0.75 transiently),14 without SVC
• Harmonic distortion THD below0.75 , 20
  without SVC

Conclusions

• Excellent performance possible with a classic SVC
  for sensitive and dynamic loads
• It is possible to accurately model the process in
  computer programs and to predict the system
  behaviour
