• Functions
• Support-gives the body shape and structure
• Protection- you tell how important other organs
  are to our body by how much bone surrounds them
• Blood Cell Production- in bone marrow
• Movement- connection points for muscle

Connective Tissue

• The adult body contains 206 bones.
• 3 Types of connective tissue
• Tendons connect muscle to bone
• Ligaments connect bone to bone
• Cartilage cushions, is also soft flexible tissue
• A Joint is anywhere 2 or more bones meet.

• To create movement

• Skeletal- moves bones
• Smooth- found in organs, stomach esophagus
• Cardiac- specialized muscle of the heart

• Biceps- muscles of the front of the upper arm
• Triceps- muscles of the back of the upper arm
• Quadriceps- muscles of the front of the thigh
• Hamstrings- muscles of the back of the thigh
