Homeric Similes
  • Noun
  • a figure of speech involving the comparison of
    one thing with another thing of a different kind,
    used to make a description more emphatic or vivid
  • ex. as brave as a lion, sneaky like a fox...
  • Homeric simile, also called an epic simile is a
    detailed comparison in the form of a simile that
    is many lines in length. This type of simile is
    still used by authors today.
