Thermal Expansion is negligible.

Possible Sources of Error Cont.
  • Deflection
  • Three point bending would be greatest source of
    deflection.
  • After calculating deflection using model, this
    error was considered to be negligible.
  • Precision necessary to 7 microns,
  • Deflection was on the order of 13 microns given
    1000N of perpendicular force.

Measurements
  • Diameters measured with Micrometer
  • Lengths measured with Digital Calipers
  • Radii measured with optical comparator
  • All were within tolerances
