Title: Worship
1Worship
2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view
of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living
sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God this is
your spiritual act of worship. Rom. 121
3- Worship
- English To ascribe worth-ship to God
- To adore God as a response to an encounter with
His Presence - To love and glorify God (reflect the glow of God
in you back to Him and to others) in every aspect
of your life -
4To Worship in Church Collectively
receiving and sharing in the love of
Jesus. Participating/sharing in
encounters with the Presence of God in
a myriad of ways to be blessed and to
bless others.
5Worship beyond these walls The passions for
life that God has placed in you ARE worship for
you. As you fulfill with excellence the things
you do in relationships, work, recreation,
service, hobbies, etc., you glorify the One who
made you.
6A spirit of religion implies that only overtly
spiritual activities are acceptable as service to
God and that anything that doesnt have to do
with Bible reading, witnessing, church
attendance, etc. is not true Christian service.
Bill Johnson
7About eating drinking So whether you eat or
drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory
of God. 1 Corinthians 1031 About
relationships And whatever you do, whether in
word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through
him. Colossians 317
8About work Whatever you do, work at it with all
your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,
since you know that you will receive an
inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the
Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians
323-24
9 Love must be sincere. Hate what
is evil cling to what is good. 10 Be
devoted to one another in brotherly
love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual
fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope,
patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Romans 129-12
