  • GPA stands for Grade Point Average
  • It is a numerical representation of all grades.
  • A traditional GPA can range from 0 to 4.0
  • Each grade you earn is worth a certain number of
    points
  • A4, B3, C2, D1, F0
  • Remember 100 - 90 A
  • 89 - 80 B
  • 79 - 74 C
  • 73 - 70 D
  • lt 70 F

Calculating GPA
  • To calculate a GPA, follow these steps
  • Write down each letter grade
  • Turn each letter grade into a number (remember A
    4, B 3, C 2,
  • Add all the numbers together
  • Divide by the total number of classes
  • Example
  • Dominick earned an A in Science, a B in Social
    Studies, an A in Math, a C in Language Arts, and
    a C in French.
  • He gets 4 points for each A, 3 points for his B,
    and 2 points for each C
  • 4 3 4 2 2 15. He took 5 classes so we
    divide by 5.
  • 15/5 3.0, Dominicks GPA is 3.0
