Green School Workgroup

• Participants students, teachers, staff, parents,
  and community members
• Green Ambassadors volunteer facilitators who are
  passionate about sustainability
• Goals
• Learn about green and sustainable design,
  construction and operations at your school
• Influence the design of your school
• Support the Maryland Environmental Literacy
  Standards
• Begin or expand green practices
• Seek certification as a MD Green School

Green School Workgroup Steps

• Decide what you have and want e.g. a garden, an
  electricity monitor, an outdoor classroom, food
  education spaces
• Understand the design process know when you can
  influence the design

• Engage your design team ask questions, tell
  them what you want and ask them to include your
  ideas
• Plan for now and the future build your team for
  today and when your new school opens

• Teacher stipends are available for leading the
  Green School Award application process!
