The beginning
  • Human development begins with conception. The
    ovum and the sperm join and the cell begins to
    divide. This cell is called the embryo when it
    burrows into the uterine lining.

Pregnancy
  • Once the cells start to differentiate (after 8
    weeks) the child-to-be is called a fetus.
  • There are 3 trimesters of a pregnancy
  • 1st body systems develop
  • 2nd development of brain, baby starts to move,
    skin and hair begin to form
  • 3rd baby starts to get larger and organs finish
    forming

Infancy Birth to 1
  • 1 month start to smile
  • 6 months recognize people
  • 8 months start to sit up
  • 1 year start to walk and talk
  • Child doubles in size
  • Completely dependant

Early Childhood 1-3
  • Learn to be more independent
  • Dress themselves, feed themselves
  • Walking, talking, questioning why?

Middle Childhood 3-5
  • Imagination!!! (imaginary friends)
  • Growing bigger

Late Childhood 6-11
  • Learning to socialize (make friends)
  • Sports, hobbies
  • Learning basic reading/ writing etc.

Adolescents 12-18
  • Changes for males
  • pubic hair/ arm pit hair begins to grow
  • growth spurt
  • voice lowers
  • chest broadens
  • muscles tone
  • start having wet dreams
  • Changes for females

Cognitive Growth
  • As you get older your intelligence grows too. You
    begin to understand complex ideas and begin to
    think abstractly.
  • You begin to question things.
  • You learn to control your emotions

Adulthood 19
  • You continue to develop through your 20s. As you
    get older, your body starts to change. Your heart
    rate starts to increase, it is harder to build
    muscles and your bone strength starts to decrease.

Elderly
  • When you get much older, past 65 your body starts
    to have a hard time fighting off infection and
    long term illnesses set in.
  • You are more likely to have a heart attack,
    stroke, Alzheimer's disease, arthritis or cancer.
  • You still have the ability to build muscle and
    bone strength through exercise.

Death
  • Everyone dies.
  • People who remain must mourn in some way.
  • Mourning cannot be avoided permanently.

Preparing for your death
  • Will a document that tells people what you want
    done with your belongings and affairs. (Your
    children too.)
  • Living will a document that tells people what to
    do with your health if you cannot make your own
    decision.
  • Obituary the newspapers account of your death
    and life.
  • Holographic Will a handwritten will is a legal
    and viable document that will stand up in court!

How can I prepare for death?
  • Make your plans funeral, burial, will, living
    will etc.
  • You can completely make your plans and pay for
    them before your death so your family doesnt
    have to worry about it.
  • Let your family know what your wishes are. Ex
    organ donation, burial or cremation, type of
    funeral.

  • Write your own will living If you do not
    wish this to be your real will write on it For
    class work only!, Not a legal will.
