• Ignacy lukasiewicz 1822-1883
• Ignacy Lukasiewicz was a chemist and the pioneer
  of petroleum industry In 1852 in the laboratory
  at the chemist's shop he carried out the
  distillation of petroleum, charged with this task
  by the owner of the chemist's shop. A year later
  he constructed the first oil lamp which he used
  to light the shop window at the chemist's shopstry

The city

• Gorlice is a city in south eastern Poland with
  around 29,500 inhabitants. It is situated south
  east of Kraków and south of Tarnów
• The city lies in the Ropa and Sekówka River
  Valleys, surrounded by several mountain ranges of
  the Carpathian Mountains, namely their part
  called Low Beskid massive.
• The city is situated in a heavily populated
  region
• Gorlice was founded during the reign of Kazimierz
  Wielki in 1354 and plant by Dereslaw Karwacjan
• The city was the focal point of the German
  Gorlice-Tarnów Offensive during World War I, in
  May, 1915. Hence the "Gorlice fair" or "Gorlice
  days" held every year during the May Bank
  Holidays and adjoining days, which are enjoyed by
  many visitors both domestic and from abroad.

• Our school has been developing all the time. We
  possess modern chemistry and physics laboratory.
  Apart from that, we are proud of our computer
  room. Owing to this modern computer room, those
  students who are keen on computers can cultivate
  their interests in informatics.
• In School year 2009/2010 education started .
  Students on 16 profiles

  places in statewide technical Olympics.
• Unfortunately, school by the reason of age
  require repair which transmit it new appearance,
  also small amount of clasrooms estop development
  of new direction of education.
