History of HSS

• September and October 2011- Ideas for HSS are
  generated by the original founders
• November 2011- Idea pitched to the Dean of the
  School of Sustainability
• December 2011- Plans for membership begin and
  initial budget is released

History of HSS

• January-February 2012- Event planning continues
• March 2012- First official HSS members join as
  HSS becomes an ASU organization
• April 20, 2012- Inaugural HSS banquet occurs and
  the first 20 members are initiated

HSS Today

• We have 25 members at ASU and continue to grow
• We have three events including a career event, an
  alumni mixer, and the annual banquet
• We have received contact from from other
  educational institutions regarding the expansion
  of HSS
