57- Explain why the sun shines.
- Give the name of the process
- identify where it happens
- the conditions that cause it to happen
- identify whats turning into what
- how long it takes energy get to the surface
- how long it takes to get to Earth
58The sun shines because of a process called
nuclear fusion. Extreme heat pressure in
center of sun pushes hydrogen atoms together.
The hydrogen atoms combine to form helium atoms
energy. After a million years or so, the energy
reaches the surface of the sun From there, it
takes about 8 minutes to reach Earths surface.
