  • Petrology is the study of rocks
  • Magma inside the Earth
  • Lava outside the crust of the Earth
  • Crystals are minerals that form when they are
    free to grow in nature. Crystals that grow up
    against each other in rocks have straight edges
    and they very often show flat shiny faces that
    reflect light like tiny mirrors.
