What is the National Student Survey?

• Annual survey of final year undergraduates
  across the UK
• Commissioned by the Higher Education Funding
  Council for England on behalf of all the funding
  bodies
• Fully supported by the National Union of Students
• Conducted by Ipsos MORI
• Quick and easy to complete
• Some exceptions apply

How are the results used?

• The NSS results are made available at
  Unistats.com to help prospective students make
  informed decisions of where and what to study
• Institutions are provided with the anonymised
  data to help us identify areas where we are doing
  well, as well as areas for improvement, for the
  purpose of improving the student learning
  experience for future generations of students

Your opinion matters to FoC

• As a result of what you have told us, we have-
  improved connections to industry with monthly
  Student Enterprise Workshops- obtained
  professional accreditation for our Maths courses
  (IMA) started the process for the BCS, IET
  SkillSet- improved feedback arrangements with
  early draft course work comments and the three
  week promise- established a regular meeting
  every semester between the StARS and the Dean,
  ensuring that we listen to the feedback from the
  StARS and respond to them- dedicated lab
  software, listed on the web site
