Why The BLOOD

• Why is it a requirement that BLOOD needed to be
  shed ??
• Throughout the Bible there is spoken of the
  shedding of Blood
• Ex
• An animal had to die in order for Adam Eve to
  be clothed after their transgression (Gen 321)
• Then it is mentioned about Abels Blood that
  cries out to God (Gen 410, Heb 1224)
• And later with Abraham, circumcision was
  introduced (Gen 1710-27, Gen 214, Rom49,12)
• And then all the types of offers were introduced
  as part of the Laws during the time of Moses(The
  whole book of Leviticus can be studied further)
• And so it carries onright up to the Cruxifiction
  
• Heb 922 And almost all things are by the law
  purged with blood and without shedding of blood
  is no remission.
• NOW the First Main use of Blood in the Old
  Testament was to make a Covenant (or rather Cut a
  Covenant) eg Gen 15 God made a Covenant with
  Abram, Exo 224 God Remembered it when He heard
  the cries of Israel in Egypt
• Thus, a Covenant that was sealed by Blood had a
  strong impact for generations to come, and wasnt
  to be taken lightly at all
• It is a bond that is made between 2 parties and
  it impacts both their families forever
  thereafter
• This Covenant blood was sometimes even sprinkled
  on the people as well during this covenant
• Exo 248 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled
  it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of
  the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you
  concerning all these words.
• But then in Leviticus we see that Blood was used
  for Sanctification of the Priests, and the Temple
  and everything in the Temple (Eg Lev 830, Heb
  919-21)
• And also Blood was sprinkled on the Altar and
  the Mercy Seat as Atonement for the people (Exo
  3010, Lev 1612-19)
• Lev 1711 For the life of the flesh is in the
  blood and I have given it to you upon the altar
  to make an atonement for your souls for it is
  the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

• The Book of Hebrews explains how the offers etc
  pointed to Jesus and how He fulfilled it all
• The Bible is split on Purpose into an Old
  Testament a New Testament not just because of
  the Coming of Jesus, but also because of the
  following information in Heb 9
• Note Testament Covenant is used
  interchangeably in the Bible.
• So lets look at some of the texts in Heb 9 10
• Heb 915-17 And for this cause He is the mediator
  of the new testament, that by means of death, for
  the redemption of the transgressions that were
  under the first testament, they which are called
  might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
  For where a testament is, there must also of
  necessity be the death of the testator. For a
  testament is of force after men are dead
  otherwise it is of no strength at all while the
  testator liveth. (also see Heb 86-7)
• Heb 918-20 Whereupon neither the first
  testament was dedicated without blood. For when
  Moses had spoken every precept to all the people
  according to the law, he took the blood of calves
  and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and
  hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the
  people, Saying, This is the blood of the
  testament which God hath enjoined unto you. (see
  Exo. 243-8)
• Heb 921-22 Moreover he sprinkled with blood
  both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the
  ministry. And almost all things are by the law
  purged with blood and without shedding of blood
  is no remission.
• NOTE This NEW TESTAMENT is now in Force,
  because the Testator (Jesus) Died on the Cross
  and Shed ALL His Blood to Seal the Covenant
  Promise of God to Abram
• Heb 1016-18 This is the covenant that I will
  make with them after those days, saith the Lord,
  I will put my laws into their hearts, and in
  their minds will I write them And their sins
  and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where
  remission of these is, there is no more offering
  for sin. (also see Heb
  810-13 the old has become obsolete.)
• NOTE It is a Strict Requirement from God that
  without BLOOD being SHED no one could be purged
  / cleansed from their iniquity and sins!!!!

Why The BLOOD

• The BLOOD Brings CLEANSING/Purification
• Heb 923-24 It was therefore necessary that the
  patterns of things in the heavens should be
  purified with these but the heavenly things
  themselves with better sacrifices than these.
  For Christ is not entered into the holy places
  made with hands, which are the figures of the
  true but into heaven itself, now to appear in
  the presence of God for us
• Heb 925-26 Nor yet that He should offer Himself
  often, as the high priest entereth into the holy
  place every year with blood of others For then
  must He often have suffered since the foundation
  of the world but now once in the end of the
  world hath He appeared to put away sin by the
  sacrifice of Himself.
• This Jesus has done by Becoming a High Priest
  Himself and have stepped in our place and have
  offered Himself as the most Holy and Innocent
  Sacrifice once and for all.
• Heb 911-12 But Christ being come an high priest
  of good things to come, by a greater and more
  perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is
  to say, not of this building Neither by the
  blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood
  he entered in once into the holy place, having
  obtained eternal redemption for us.
• Heb 913 For if the blood of bulls and of goats,
  and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the
  unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the
  flesh
• Heb 914 How much more shall the blood of
  Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered
  Himself without spot to God, purge your
  conscience from dead works to serve the living
  God?
• In other Words the BLOOD of Jesus was PURE and
  Holy and Innocentand thus it was better than any
  Blood on Earth (humans or animals), and it can
  cleanse us completely (Spirit, Soul Body) of
  all Sin / Unrighteousness
• 1John 17-8 But if we walk in the light, as he
  is in the light, we have fellowship one with
  another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son
  cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have
  no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is
  not in us.
• 1John 19 If we confess our sins, He is faithful
  and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse
  us from all unrighteousness.

Why The BLOOD

• HOW did Jesus shed His Blood ??
• Col 213-15 And you, being dead in your sins and
  the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He (God)
  quickened together with Him (Jesus), having
  forgiven you all trespasses Blotting out the
  handwriting of ordinances that was against us,
  which was contrary to us, and took it out of the
  way, nailing it to his cross And having spoiled
  principalities and powers, he made a shew of them
  openly, triumphing over them in it.
• 7 Places That Jesus Shed His Blood
• In the Garden of Gethsemane - He prayed Earnestly
  and in Agony His sweat became blood drops (Luk
  2244)
• His Beard was plucked out, they smote Him in the
  face and spit on Him (Isa 506, Mat 2667)
• Crown of Thorns on His head which the Soldiers
  even smote Him on the Head with the reed (Mat
  2728-31, John 191-5)
• He was chastised through whiplashes 39 times
  (according to Roman Tradition) (Luk 2316-22)
• He was crucified with Nails through His Hands
  (Luk 2439-40)
• And Nails through His Feet (Luk 2439-40)
• And at His death they forced a Sword through
  His Right Side, Blood Water came out (Joh
  1934)
• He was made a Shame and a Spectacle on the Cross,
  tempted in every way (Luk 23)
• Isaiah 53 tells us the whole story in a Prophecy
• Isa 535 But He was wounded for our
  transgressions, He was bruised for our
  iniquities the chastisement of our peace was
  upon Him and with His stripes we are healed.

• Quite a few Direct Prophecies in Psalms pointing
  towards Jesus on the Cross!!! Here is just 1
  Example.
• Ps 517-8 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be
  clean wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
  Make me to hear joy and gladness that the bones
  which thou hast broken may rejoice.
• Joh 1928 After this, Jesus knowing that all
  things were now accomplished, that the scripture
  might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there
  was set a vessel full of vinegar and they filled
  a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop,
  and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore
  had received the vinegar, He said, It is
  finished and He bowed his head, and gave up the
  ghost. (John 1931-27)

Why The BLOOD

• HOW does the BLOOD of Jesus Cleanse us ??
• Heb 914 How much more shall the blood of
  Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered
  Himself without spot to God, purge your
  conscience from dead works to serve the living
  God?
• Eze 184 Behold, all souls are mine as the soul
  of the father, so also the soul of the son is
  mine the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
• Lev 1711 For the life of the flesh is in the
  blood and I have given it to you upon the altar
  to make an atonement for your souls for it is
  the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
• Because it is SIN that takes/kills/destroys
  LIFE !!!
• AND THUS LIFE is required to REPAY sins debts
  !!!
• Col 119-21 For it pleased the Father that in
  Him should all fulness dwell And, having made
  peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to
  reconcile all things unto Himself by Him, I
  say, whether they be things in earth, or things
  in heaven.
• Col 121-22 And you, that were sometime
  alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked
  works, yet now hath He reconciled In the body of
  his flesh through death, to present you holy and
  unblameable and unreproveable in His sight
• Col 123 If ye continue in the faith grounded
  and settled, and be not moved away from the hope
  of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was
  preached to every creature which is under
  heaven
• Mankind was separated from God because of SIN and
  had no acceptable offering to satisfy the demands
  of Gods Holy Nature.
• THUS God had to send His SON to provide an
  acceptable sacrifice for sin, establishing a bond
  with those who received Him, thereby making Peace
  !!
• The Innocent/Divine LIFE (Blood) of Jesus Christ
  shed on the cross, satisfied this demand, and
  provided the means for all creation to be
  Reconciled to God.
• NOW COVENANT PEACE has been Restored between Man
  and GOD !!!

Why The BLOOD

• The main reason why BLOOD is required to cleanse
  us today is because.
• Rom 323-25 (KJV) For all have sinned, and come
  short of the glory of God Being justified
  freely by His grace through the redemption that
  is in Christ Jesus Whom God hath set forth to
  be a propitiation (atonement) through faith in
  His blood, to declare His righteousness for the
  remission of sins that are past, through the
  forbearance of God
• Rom 324-26 (MSG) God did it for us. Out of
  sheer generosity He put us in right standing with
  Himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess
  we're in and restored us to where He always
  wanted us to be. And He did it by means of Jesus
  Christ. God sacrificed Jesus on the altar of the
  world to clear that world of sin. Having faith in
  Him sets us in the clear. God decided on this
  course of action in full view of the public--to
  set the world in the clear with Himself through
  the sacrifice of Jesus, finally taking care of
  the sins He had so patiently endured. This is
  not only clear, but it's now--this is current
  history! God sets things right. He also makes it
  possible for us to live in His rightness!!!
• See also Ps 51 where David pleaded with God for
  Forgiveness and Cleansing.
• Rev 1211 And they overcame him (the evil one)
  by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of
  their testimony and they loved not their lives
  unto the death.
• Isa 591-2 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not
  shortened, that it cannot save neither His ear
  heavy, that it cannot hear But your iniquities
  have separated between you and your God, and your
  sins have hid His face from you, that He will not
  hear.
• Isa 593-4 For your hands are defiled with blood,
  and your fingers with iniquity your lips have
  spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered
  perverseness. None calleth for justice, nor any
  pleadeth for truth they trust in vanity, and
  speak lies they conceive mischief, and bring
  forth iniquity.
• Isa 44 When the Lord shall have washed away the
  filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have
  purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst
  thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the
  spirit of burning. (John 168-11)
• Spirit of Judgment will bring about Guilt in
  the hearts of Man and thus should lead unto
  Repentance followed by Forgiveness
• Spirit of Burning Will bring about the
  Cleansing Fire of God His LOVE and Mercy to
  Cleanse us of all Unrighteousness

• How do we receive this Great Work in our lives
  today ??
• Through FAITH !!!
• Joh 316-17 For God so loved the world, that he
  gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever
  believeth in Him should not perish, but have
  everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into
  the world to condemn the world but that the
  world through Him might be saved.
• Heb 116 But without faith it is impossible to
  please Him for he that cometh to God must
  believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of
  them that diligently seek Him.
• 1John 19 If we confess our sins, He is faithful
  and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse
  us from all unrighteousness.
• Rom 104-5 For Christ is the end of the law for
  righteousness to every one that believeth. For
  Moses describeth the righteousness which is of
  the law, That the man which doeth those things
  shall live by them.
• Rom 106-8 But the righteousness which is of
  faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine
  heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to
  bring Christ down from above) Or, Who shall
  descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up
  Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it?
  The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in
  thy heart that is, the word of faith, which we
  preach
• WARNING Do not be like Israel in the Desert
  who also received this message, but didnt
  believe it, and thus they died in the wilderness
  and their children inherited the promises !!!
• Heb 42 For unto us was the gospel preached, as
  well as unto them but the word preached did not
  profit them, not being mixed with faith in them
  that heard it.

Why The BLOOD

1. Rom 109-13 That if thou shalt confess with thy
   mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
   heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
   thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man
   believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth
   confession is made unto salvation. For the
   scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall
   not be ashamed. For there is no difference
   between the Jew and the Greek for the same Lord
   over all is rich unto all that call upon Him.
   For whosoever shall call upon the name of the
   Lord shall be saved.
2. Rom 1014-16 How then shall they call on Him in
   whom they have not believed? and how shall they
   believe in Him of whom they have not heard? and
   how shall they hear without a preacher? And how
   shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is
   written, How beautiful are the feet of them that
   preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad
   tidings of good things! But they have not all
   obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who
   hath believed our report? (Isa 531)
3. Rom 1017 So then faith cometh by hearing, and
   hearing by the word of God.
4. Rev 713-17 And one of the elders answered,
   saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed
   in white robes? and whence came they? And I said
   unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me,
   These are they which came out of great
   tribulation, and have washed their robes, and
   made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
   Therefore are they before the throne of God, and
   serve him day and night in His temple and He
   that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among
   them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst
   any more neither shall the sun light on them,
   nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst
   of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead
   them unto living fountains of waters and God
   shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
5. THUS Choose this day to Believe the Scriptures
   and the Promises of God, and TRUST/RELY on HIM
   who is TRUE and Faithfull and Just, that
   whosoever call upon His Name, shall not be put to
   shame (or be disappointed) but He will hear
   your call, and cleanse you from all
   Unrighteousness !!!

Why The BLOOD - Communion

• 1Cor 1123 For I received from the Lord what I
  also passed on to you-how the Lord Jesus, on the
  night he was betrayed, took a loaf of bread,
• 1Cor 1124 gave thanks for it, and broke it in
  pieces, saying, "This is my body that is for you.
  Keep doing this in memory of me."
• 1Cor 1125 He did the same with the cup after
  the supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant
  in my blood. As often as you drink from it, keep
  doing this in memory of me."
• Mat 2628 For this is my blood of the new
  testament, which is shed for many for the
  remission of sins.
• 1Cor 1126 For as often as you eat this bread
  and drink from this cup, you proclaim the Lord's
  death until He comes.
• Joh 653-58 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily,
  verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh
  of the Son of man, and drink His blood, ye have
  no life in you. Whoso eateth My flesh, and
  drinketh My blood, hath eternal life and I will
  raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is
  meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He
  that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood,
  dwelleth in Me, and I in him. As the living
  Father hath sent Me, and I live by the Father so
  he that eateth Me, even he shall live by Me.
• Joh 658 This is that bread which came down from
  heaven not as your fathers did eat manna, and
  are dead he that eateth of THIS BREAD shall live
  for ever.
• Let these scriptures speak to you today while
  you partake of the Bread and of the CUP
  remembering what Christ did for YOU !!!
