2Julie got to school early one morning and her
teacher asked her to put a pretty boarder up
around the bulletin board in the hallway. Julie
measured and found the board was four feet wide
and two and a half feet high. In order to get
enough boarder paper, what did Julie need to do?
Was she looking for area or perimeter? How do
you know?
3Stevens mother wanted a flower bed in front of
their house. He decided to create one for her
for Mothers Day. He was going to plant tulips.
He had 24 bulbs that he wanted to plant in three
rows. He needed one foot between each bulb.
What was the smallest amount of space Steven
needed? Would he be looking for area or
perimeter?
4Mrs. Russo needed new carpeting in her dining
room and living room. She went to the Home Depot
to get prices. She found the perfect carpet for
24.49 per square yard. Now she needed to figure
out how much to buy. What did Mrs. Russo need
to do?

He hopes to fix them up some day. In the mean
time, Mrs. Windsor wants to put up a fence to

the building. She knew she wanted the bricks to

rows around the building she would need. What
should she do?
7Mrs. Strever would like to have her office
painted. They are having a sale on wall paint at
Home Depot. She can get a gallon free when she
buys two. Each gallon will cover 400 square
feet. What information will Mrs. Strever need
before she goes back to the store?
