• Two names, most famously known as Lord Byron
  (became a baron at the age of 6).
• From birth, suffered from a club foot, which
  caused a limp, so he sought to compensate by
  improving himself in all ways possible.
• Father abandoned him and his mother when he was
  very young
• Started writing poetry at an young age. Some of
  his first published pieces were written when he
  was 14.

• Led a scandalous life
• Married only once, but it failed
• Moved away from London to get away from the
  scandal
• Moved to Switzerland, where he met and befriended
  Percy Bysshe Shelley and his wife, Mary.
• Became famous for his poetry in his lifetime (it
