Rejoicing And Bewaring

• The first bite is to discuss the theme of
  rejoicing in the Lord.
• However, we must also talk about extreme care
  while we are in this tainted and fallen world.
• We need a nice balance between carefree trust in
  God and vigilance and sobriety because of Satan.

Rejoicing In The Lord

• Rejoicing is a major theme in this epistle.
• 44 Rejoice in the Lord always.
• 118 Christ is proclaimed and in this I
  rejoice.
• 217-18 --But even if I am being poured out as a
  drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of
  your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you
  all. You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way
  and share your joy with me.

• A Christian who will not rejoice in the Lord

• The greatest level of joy available in this world
  is reserved for those baptized into Christ.

  circumcision.

Beware Of The DOgs

• Describes those with unholy desires or appetites.
• Psalm 2216 -- For dogs have surrounded me A
  band of evildoers has encompassed me They
  pierced my hands and my feet.

• Matthew 76 -- Do not give what is holy to dogs,
  and do not throw your pearls before swine, or
  they will trample them under their feet, and turn
  and tear you to pieces.
• Revelation 2215 Outside are the dogs and the
  sorcerers and the immoral persons and the
  murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who
  loves and practices lying.

  Christ and the gospel

  teaching.

Be Wary Of The WOrld

• James 44 --You adulteresses, do you not know
  that friendship with the world is hostility
  toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a
  friend of the world makes himself an enemy of
  God.
• 2 Corinthians 614 Do not be bound together
  with unbelievers for what partnership have
  righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship
  has light with darkness?
