• OBJECTIVES
• Refine our understanding of the engineering
  design process.
• Develop advanced teamwork skills.
• Build a cart that can automatically follow a
  person, or be controlled by hand gestures.
• Implement safety features including emergency
  stop and sonar bumpers.
• Produce a prototype within 10 weeks for less than
  400.

• ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• A prototype cart was built in 9 weeks for 350.
• This cart has been viewed and deemed useful by
  people at the local Walmart Distribution Center,
  AU Building Science Dept., and the AU ECE Dept.
  shop.
• Hand gestures include new user, stop/start,
  pause, turn right, turn left.
• All documentation for the project has been
  submitted to (website) (Canvas)
• Our cart placed 3rd in the Alabama SmartCart
  competition, with a course completion time of 10
  seconds.
• We learned to measure before applying power, by
  burning up one motor.
