CARMEN CONDE ABELLÁN
  • Carmen Conde was born on 15th of August in 1907
    and she died on 8th of January in 1996.
  • She was a Spanish poet, novelist, intellectual
    and playwright.
  • In 1931 She founded the first Popular University
    in Cartagena with Antonio Oliver. She was the
    first woman to become numeric academic of the
    Real Spanish Academy she gave a speech in
    1979.
  • She was a very good poet and a writer of Spanish
    literature for children.

MANUEL MUÑOZ BARBERÁN
  • He was born on 26th of May in 1921 in Lorca and
    died on 1st of December in 2007 in Murcia. He was
    a painter. He painted Murcias murals, Lorcas
    and Jumillas landscape and he was also a writer
    and researcher.

DANIEL JIMÉNEZ DE CISNEROS Y HERVÉS
  • He was born on 16th of April in 1863 in
    Murcia and he died on the 17th of January in 1941
    in Alicante. He was the most important
    paleontologist in the 20th century. He began to
    collect fossils and minerals. In 1902 he was
    named Scientific Correspondent of Natural
    Sciences Museum in Madrid. He participated in a
    lot of paleontologic congress in Spain and
    abroad. He published 100 scientifics work. He was
    president of the Iberian Society of Natural
    Sciences (1924). And he was also the National
    Academic Correspondent of the Royal Academy of
    Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences.

ISAAC PERAL Y CABALLERO
  • He was born in Cartagena (Murcia) on June 1st,
    1851, and he died in Berlin on May 22nd, 1895. He
    was a scientist, marine and Spanish
    military,naval lieutenant in the Royal Navy and
    the inventor of the submarine, known as the Peral
    Submarine.

JULIÁN ROMEA
  • Julian Romea was a spanish actor of romantic
    drama. He stood out for his naturalness and good
    taste and he was seen as one of the greatest
    glories of the National Theatre. The theater
    Romea in Murcia has his name in his honor.

FRANCISCO SALZILLO
  • He was born on 21st of May in 1707 in Murcia and
    died on 2nd of March in 1973. He was a Spanish
    sculptor. Salzillo was considered the most
    representative Spanish Baroque sculptor of the
    18th century. Salzillo inherited his fathers
    workshop who was also a sculptor.. He lived in
    Murcia and has a museum dedicated to his work,
    the Salzillo Museum.

ELOY SÁNCHEZ ROSILLO
  • He was born on 24th of June in 1948 in Murcia, He
    is a Spanish literature professor at the
    University of Murcia. He won the Adonais prize
    in 1977 with his book Ways of being alone and
    is known in Contemporary Spanish poetry.

PEDRO JARA CARRILLO
  • He was born in 1876 in Alcantarilla, Murcia.
    When he was 15 he started his studies as a
    teacher training in Murcia. In 1904 he ran the
    Newspaper Region of Levante, and from 1911 until
    his death he led the Liberals Newspaper. As a
    poet, he is responsible for the lirycs Himno a
    Murcia, as well as Rosa de nieve, La
    tempranica, y la Parranda He died in 1927

DIEGO MARTÍN
  • DIEGO MARTIN is a singer who writes songs. He
    was born in Murcia in 1980. His first album is a
    golden disc. he has got a number 1 in Top 40 .
    His fame came with the song Dejame verte a duet
    with the vocalist Raquel del Rosario of the group
    El Sueño de Morfeo. The golden disc Vivir no
    es solo respirar, was published the 2nd of
    October in 2005.
