• Rocks are made out of minerals.
• Minerals come in lots of different colors.
• This rock is made of 3 or more different
  minerals.

• Where do you think sand comes from?

• Rocks break and become smaller.
• They break into tiny rocks that become grains of
  sand.
• Sand is made up of smaller particles called silt.
