Mission

• The 30th EN BN (-) deploys to Kuwait with an
  LAD of 4 April 2003, conducts RSOI with the 416th
  ENCOM in theatre, and resumes geospatial support
  to the CFLCC in order to support current and
  future military operations in the Middle East.

Mission

• The Coalition Provisional Authority provides
  continuous support to the people of Iraq to
  ensure effective and complete reconstruction of
  the countrys critical infrastructure and
  stabilization of the government until such time
  as the Iraqi people can provide for and govern
  themselves as a democratic nation

Facts

• All products produced were created for the CPA
  staff and ministries, Combined Joint Task force-7
  (CJTF-7), its subordinate units, and the United
  States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)
• The topographic team is playing a key role in the
  ongoing Mass Grave site assessment through change
  detection utilizing archival and current
  commercial satellite imagery
• Provided image based products to assist in the
  search for weapons of mass destruction
• Very little of Iraqs map data survived combat
  operations and post war looting. In the effort
  to recover or reproduce this critical data, the
  Topographic Team has scanned in several hard copy
  maps and created vector data crucial in the
  rebuilding of the Iraqi infrastructure
• The USACE has a Division size element flowing
  into Iraq and the Topographic Team will be a
  valuable asset fulfilling their mapping needs

  the CPA regional headquarters
• Baldiyah (cities, municipalities), Hayy
  (neighborhoods), and Mahalah zones (postal zones)
  boundaries
• Province (state) Quaida (county), and Nadiya
  (district) zone boundaries
• Government districts boundaries

• These products continue to be instrumental in
  successful accomplishments of the following
  critical tasks
• Reconstruction of the Iraqi oil infrastructure
• Reconstruction of the Iraqi electrical
  infrastructure
• Reconstruction of the Iraqi transportation
  network
• Reconstruction of the Iraqi irrigation system
• Reconstruction of key Iraqi government facilities
  infrastructure
• Reconstruction of the Iraqi civil infrastructure
  to include schools, hospitals, police stations,
  fire stations, prisons and court houses
• Bottom line The Topographic Team is a critical
  asset within CPA and must continue supporting
  this organization
