2Micom-ALE STD Enhancements
- Micom Multi-Net operation
- Scanning simultaneously up to 20 different nets
- ACS-Adaptive Customize Signalization
- New calls
- Extended DBM
- GPS information over AMD
- Bi-directional LQA exchange with link on the best
channel in real time
3Micom ALE Net Per MIL STD188-141B
- Net (up to 20) Parameters
- Group of selectable scanned channels (up to
100) - 2 or 5 scan channels per second
- Self (personal) address
- Other sites addresses directory
- Associated with Net addressing with net
members - Timing function for individual and all type of
net and group calls. - Tswt- Slot Wait Time (slot time information for
group/net calls handshake). - Calling time Ta (Ta m x Trw address length),
Td (dwell time 5p/c or 2p/c) ......
4NET Setting
Both NETS can not interoperable simultaneously
5Micom Multi-Net operation
- Scanning multiple NETs (up to 20) simultaneously
- (as an enhanced of MIL-STD188-141B)
- Enhanced System configuration
- Data Relay between NETS
Auto timing calculation Ta m x Tnw
(automatically according to net selection) Td

6ACS-Adaptive Customize Signalization
TO A
TO A
TO A
FROM B
- Sounding and Calling optimization
- Links between different networks configurations
- Signalization length Setting by system designer
- Links between Single NETS and Multi-Nets radios
- Sounding in group sequence
- Skipping Sounding cycle
- NULL Addresses to adapt timing for safe
interoperability
7MIL-STD188-141B NEW ALE CALLS
- ALL CALL
- Emergency Call
- NET CALL
- Prearranged NET calls
- GROUP CALL
- Adaptive/on line Group Call with slot time
handshake - ANY CALL
- General broadcast call with responses with a
common prefix address - WILD-CARD
- General broadcast call with responses with a
common address characters - SELF CALL
- For maintenance and sounding
8Slot time Auto Calculation
In Net Call and Group Call the radio is calculate
the slot time (SWT) to answer automatically

To NET/GROUP
This is A
Slot-0
Tcc dwell time
To A This is Z 14Tw1829.33mSec
Slot-1
To A This is B001 17Tw2221.3mSec
Slot-2
To A This is C01 14Tw1829.33mSec
For Net Call and Group Call the operator is
setting the timing calculation manually and set
the radio with the timing parameters. Micom ALE
is calculating the timing automatically ,the
operator needs to define only the slot time order
9Extended DBM
- Data Block Message
- Fully buffered at the radio (saving the
message , file) - Deep interleaver supporting penetration of
long - fades and large noise bursts
- Typing messages via external terminal
- or by using the integrated radio keyboard
- Messages will be displayed on data terminal
- or radio display
-
- Maximum size , bits 261660
- Data capacity , ASCII 37377
- Block size Transmission , bits 588
USB Connection For external keyboard
10Micom-GPS GPS information over AMD
- Auto device detection
- NMEA AND TSIP protocols

12- Bi- directional Handshake
- The bi- directional handshake is a shortcut
procedure to exchange LQA scores with other
stations in the system with or without
establishing a link. - This procedure is useful in the following cases
- The radio has only recently been switched on.
- To update the LQA scores before initiating a
call. - When a new or passive station joins to the
system. - In case of sudden atmospheric changes.
- Networks without auto-sounding.

The best way to save sounding cycles
13Summary Recommendations
- We presented the MICOM -2,3
- A commercial radio that meets the ALE MIL STD
188-141B with enhanced features. - Multi-Net as a gateway between networks
- Data applications over the AMD
- Bi-directional function may save sounding
air time - Our recommendations to add to MIL STD188-141B
- Multi-Net
- Bi- directional Handshake
