What is it?

• An initiative of the EU for all youngsters, who
  would like to participate in a non-profit project
  abroad.

EVS Framework

• Age 18 to 30
• Duration 2 to 12 months
• Specific professional qualifications needed? No,
  but sometimes prefered
• Requirement Your engagement, interest and
  motivation

Short-term EVS

• For whom? Disadvantaged youngsters
• Duration 2 weeks to two months
• Supported Prolongation to a normal EVS (up to 12
  months)

Which countries are involved?

• The 27 member countries of the EU
• Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway
• Turkey
• Neighbouring partner countries (South-East
  Europe, East-Europe and Caucasus, partner
  countries around the Mediterranean Sea)
• Other partner countries in the world

Topics of EVS

• SOCIAL e.g working with disabled and elderly
  people
• CHILDREN AND YOUNGSTERS e.g Childcare, Youth
  centre, Youth information centres
• ENVIRONMENT e.g alternative engergy,
  environmental campaigns, organisations for the
  protection of animals
• ART/CULTURE/COMMUNICATION Theater

What will you get?

• Travel costs both ways
• Pre-departure, On-arrival and Mid-term trainings
• Pocket money in Austria e.g. 110,-
• Lodging and boarding
• Insurance Complete insurance (AXA)
• Language Course
• Support for local transport

• Contact nearest youth information centre
• Get information for application procedure
• Check data base and find your project
• Get in contact with the hosting organisation
• Send CV and motivation letter
• Apply (deadlines!)
• Wait and be patient ?
