A wire form is built, and like a skeleton it will
support the rest of the body

• Begin with a firm support in the legs. To do
  this, doubled the wire in the legs and arms for
  more strength. Use your body as a measuring
  tool. How far down do your arms touch your legs
  and how long is your torso and legs.
• Your whole body is 7-8 heads tall.

You can bend the body to show movement.

Stuffing the inside of the body with paper will
give more stability.

Wrap tape or newspaper around the wire, to begin
forming the shape.

Attaching the feet to cardboard makes it easier
to work on. You must use a hot glue gun and
sticks.

Bend the stance the way you want it before you
start to paper mache the form.

Each layer needs to dry thoroughly.

• The ingredients for making Paper Mache are
  newspaper and a paste made from flour, water and
  a little salt mixed with a beater to the
  consistency of pancake batter.
• Two coats are needed with the newspaper and they
  must be dried in between.

Small strips of newspaper should be applied in
one direction. Dip the newspaper in the paste
and wipe most of the paste off between your
fingers so that the drying time is shortened.

Add glue to the paste to make the final coat
clear so the bright colors of the wrapping paper
will show through.

At this point, wrapping paper will be your last
coat.

Adding the shoes and final touches.

• Pruning shears are needed to cut through the
  sticks and glue.
• Test the place-ment of the feet in the shoes
  before you add hot glue to the inside of the
  shoe. Do one shoe at a time quickly placing the
  foot in the shoe before the glue cools.
• Then hot glue the shoes to a board big enough to
  support the form.

• You can paint with an opaque paint such as
  acrylic paints or poster paints to cover the
  newspaper.

are fun to paint. To make the paint shine you
may want to use an acrylic spray, but spray out
of doors, not in your room.
