• dorsal hand tissue is thin
• Splint should never put more that 50g/cm2
• for leather sling with skin contact of 4 cm2, the
  maximum pull should be 200 g.
• smaller sling can tolerate less pull

Line of Pull

• Pull should be at 90 degrees
• Pull should follow natural movement of joint
• Blocks might need to be incorporated into the
  splint to provide the right amount of pull.
• If splint is made to increase ROM, splint must be
  monitored to maintain 90 degree rotational force.
• Use eye screw, screwed into plastic outrigger to
  direct line of pull
