Title: Welcome to Flexco Bolt Solid Plate
1Welcome to Flexco Bolt Solid Plate
HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS
2Applications
- Engineered to meet the demands of the toughest
material-handling applications. - Commonly used for highly abrasive materials.
- Can be applied to belts mechanically rated up to
105kN/m (620 P.I.W.).
3Applications
- Coal
- Hard-Rock Mining
- Foundries
- Grain Elevators
- Aggregate Plants
- Steel Mills
- Recycling
4Selection Guide
Operating tension 75-100 of Belt Rating
5Superior Strength
- Strong, sift-free splice with superior holding
ability. - Compression fastener plates are mounted above
and below the belt with high tensile strength
bolts.
6Superior Strength
- Specially formed teeth penetrate deep into the
belt carcass without damaging the carcass
fibers. - Teeth add strength and pull-out resistance.
7Easy Installation
- Specially designed templets, punches and boring
tools make it easy to quickly and accurately
punch holes into belts. - Fasteners can be installed on site using portable
hand or power tools.
8Easy Installation
- Exclusive Flexco piloted bolt speeds
installation. - Piloted bolt tips cradle nuts securely in place
aligning the bolt and nut threads as the nut is
turned.
9Splice Pattern 90
- 90 splice is the most commonly used splice
pattern for standard troughing and non-troughing
bulk conveyors. - Requires the fewest fasteners.
- Easiest and quickest to install.
10Splice Pattern 45
- Can be installed in situations where pulley
diameters are as much as 25 smaller than the
recommended size. - Angled splice distributes tension over a greater
belt area. - Passes more smoothly over pulleys and under
cleaners.
11Wedlok High Tension Splice
- Costs substantially less than a vulcanized
splice. - Quicker to install than a vulcanized splice and
can be installed by your own maintenance crew. - Can be installed on belts with a mechanical
fastener rating up to 123kN/m (700 P.I.W.).
12Rip Repair
- Use standard Flexco Bolt Solid Plate fasteners to
repair belt edge tears and holes. - Three-bolt Rip Plate fasteners can be used to
bridge soft spots. - For jagged length-wise tears, standard fasteners
can be combined with three-bolt Rip Plate
fasteners.
13Recessed Bolt Solid Plate
- When belt top covers are 4.8mm (3/16) or more,
we recommend countersinking (recessing)
fasteners. - Provides deeper penetration of fastener teeth
into the carcass. - Reduces fastener exposure and extends splice
life. - Reduces noise on return idlers.
- Smaller fasteners may be used in applications
with smaller pulley diameters.
14Installation Tools Supplies
- The only tools needed are a templet and portable
hand and power tools. - Impact wrench driven power tools are recommended
since they can speed installation time by at
least 50
15Installation Tools Supplies
- 90 and 45 Templets simplify installation by
providing an accurate guide for precise placement
of bolt holes. - Lengths for all standard belt widths are
available.
16Installation Tools Supplies
- With a hammer and the Flexco Cracking Chisel,
worn top plates can be easily replaced without
replacement of the entire splice.
17Installation Tools Supplies
- Flexco-Lok Tape is a rigid tape that helps
eliminate belt ripple on plied or solid-woven
belting, so belts run smoothly over pulleys and
under cleaners. - Also helps seal the splice against seepage of
fines and moisture.
18Installation Tools Supplies
- Make straighter cuts time after time with the
lightweight, easy-to-use 840 Series Belt Cutter. - Cuts in both directions.
- Designed to enhance operator safety.
- Grips belts securely.
- Safety blade is shielded from operator contact.
19Installation Tools Supplies
- Portable, lightweight FSK Belt Skiver adjusts
easily and precisely to various cutting depths. - Use on rubber-covered belts with top covers of
4.5mm (3/16) or more. - Provides skives from 1.5-10mm (1/16-3/8) deep
in a single pass.
20Installation Tools Supplies
- Securely grips belts up to 25mm (1) thick.
- Easily adjusts to fit a variety of belt widths.
- Far-Pul HD Belt Clamps are easy-to-use,
lightweight and specially engineered for
heavy-duty applications. - Load capacity up to 2.7 metric tons (3 tons) when
used with two 1-1/2 ton come-alongs. - Provides even tensioning across entire belt width.
21Flexco VP- Advantages
- All the advantages of Bolt Solid Plate plus
- Increased splice life less exposure to wear
- Increased impact protection of fasteners
- Improved cleaner/fastener interface
- Reduced cleaner blade bounce and chatter
- Reduced conveyor noise
22Flexco VP - Applications
