Title: Charles Law Volume vs Temp at Constant Pressure

1
Charles Law Volume vs Temp at Constant Pressure
Air is trapped in a capillary tube using a
mercury pellet A scale measures the change in
height (Volume) Heater provides heat energy for
the water bath Stirrer is used to stir the water
to make the temp uniform Thermometer measures the
temperature
2
Charles Law - Graph
Volume increases with temp. but not proportional
as it doesnt pass through origin When the graph
is extrapolated, the graph meets the temperature
axis at 2730c
