  their Language Arts skills.

Provide a Comprehensive Curriculum to Enhance
Their Language Arts Skills.

• An aligned K-12 Language Arts curriculum using
  our literature-based textbook and ancillary
  novels.
• A Sadlier-Oxford vocabulary program based in
  ACT/SAT format.
• Laptop carts/labs will enhance curriculum, allow
  in-class writing and editing opportunities using
  our great NEW editing tool, Criterion.
• Differentiated instruction will be implemented in
  several units to meet the needs of ALL students.

Encourage the development of their personal
writing style.

• Review and daily practice of Michael Clay
  Thompsons 4 Level analysis with Daily Oral
  Grammar.
• Introduction to expository and persuasive
  writing attention-getting introductions, thesis
  statement development, supported body paragraphs,
  and summative conclusions.
• Use of several authors and poets to study
  literature and writing styles.
• Writers Workshops will be held on Fridays
  beginning in November that will explore different
  modes of writing culminating in an
  autobiographical scrapbook called Memoirs and
  More that will be due in April.

• Daily use of the student planner.

• Organized Language Arts binder.
• Consistent Classroom Expectations
• 125 points given at the beginning of each marking
  period which is 10 of the total grade.
• 5 points deleted for poor choices tardies,
  lockers, behavior
• Brain Burps and Emergency Passes because life
  happens!
