Where does everything go?

• The knife goes next to the plate with the sharp
  side facing the plate.
• The spoon goes next to the knife.
• The fork goes on the left side next to the plate.

Cups
If coffee or tea is served, it should rest at the
middle to top left of the plate and is mostly
served with dessert after the meal.
Drinking glasses always go to the top right of
the plate because the majority of people are
right handed.

Salad Plates and Bowls
The salad plate can rest on top of the main plate
since it is served first, or the it should go at
the top far left of the plate.
If soup is being served instead of salad, the
bowl should rest on top of the main plate since
it is also served first.

Placemats anyone?

• If a placemat is used, it should rest at least
  one inch away from the table.
• The plate should rest in the center of the
  placemat.

DONT FORGET THE SALT AND PEPPER!! ?

Also, dont forget to put out the hot pads, hot
mats, or trivets for the hot food that will be
set out on the table. This helps preserve the
table and helps in passing the hot items.
