Alphabiography Presentation
  • When you are finished writing about your life,
you will have 26 separate pages.
  • Each page needs to be creative!
  • Every page should have something to catch the
    readers attention. Choose colors, fonts,
illustrations, clip art, collages, etc. that fit
with the anecdote on that page. Make your stories
    come to life!
  • When you turn in your Alphabiography, it should
resemble a book. Please present it in such a way.
(I.e. portfolio, brad folder, creative binding,
    binder, etc.)

Sample Alphabiography Entry N IS FOR NAME
  • Your name is directly tied to who you are. It
is YOUR name. It is the first thing that people
usually askWhat is your name? I had a super
cool name Lisa Amy Storm. OK, I didnt like to
the Amy part so much, but Storm was really cool.
That is what most people called me. So, when you
get married, you lose a bit of that. Your name
changes. It is exciting, but scary at the same
time. Will you change as a person? Probably not.
Will it change how people relate to you? Again,
probably not. But, sometimes, it makes you feel
differently about yourself. You may feel like you
need to find a new way to identify yourself. Your
place in alphabetical order changes. I loved the
fact that I was married, but I wasnt sure how to
my new last name suited me. I didnt feel a real
connection to my married last name, Fink, until I
was reading to my Kindergarten class a week or so
after getting married. We were in the middle of
our author study of Marc Brown, when one of the
students suggest that I read Arthurs Teacher
Trouble. I had never read the book before, so we
went ahead and read it during carpet time. When
we were about a third into the book, when Arthur
was lamenting about having Mr. Ratburn as a
teacher, I found itmy name in a book! Mrs. Fink,
a teacher! Her name (my name) was mentioned in
the book twice. Needless to say, this became my
favorite childrens book. And, a story about an
aardvark helped me to feel good about ME. LIFE
LESSON A name is important and can make you feel
good or bad about you. Find something about your
name that you can relate to.
