Although cell phones are
practically the
same as computers
are now (hardware, OS, network, etc.)
instead of having
a separate network for each component the cell
phone will continue to have all points rely on a
single network. This is because as long as closed
networks exist all these things will only be
supported by that one provider

• Opens up a much wider variety of programs and
• software for consumers to use on their network

• Allows for user driven content such as
  programs and
• services to be offered
