Joan Miro

• Born in Barcelona, Miro studied art and later met
  Picasso. He had his first one-man show in Paris
  in 1929 and his first lithographs were published
  the same year. He later travelled to the United
  States and Japan producing works and exhibiting.
  From the seventies on, his focus was increasingly
  on monumental art and public works. He was
  considered one of the great artists of the
  twentieth century.
