Biography of Sri Aurobindo

• Sri Aurobindo Ghose was born on August 15th 1872,
  in Kolkata, at 430a.m., as the the 3rd son of
  Dr.Krishna Dhan Ghose and Swanalata Devi. His
  Father was a civil medical officer.His elder
  brothers were Benoy Bhusan Ghose and Mano Mohan
  Ghose. In 1879, Dr. K.D Ghose took 3 of his sons
  to England and left them with Rev.William H.
  Drewett in Manchester to be educated. Sri
  Aurobindo lived with the Rev. Drewett for five
  years.Aurobindos elder brothers got admitted to
  Manchester Grammar School. Sri Aurobindo had some
  family land in Northern Kolkata called Maniktala
  Garden. This land was used by Barin to set up a
  center for the revolutionaries where they studied
  revolutionary literature and the Bhagavad Gita.
  They also practiced meditation and carried out
  experiments in bomb making.
