  • Chamois A soft, pliable leather originally made
    from the skin of the chamois, a small goat-like
    antelope found in the high mountainous areas of
    Europe.
  • Uses include clothing and buffing cloths.

  • Cowhide A leather made from the hide of cows.
  • Cowhide has a slight grain or corrugation and is
    a tough and strong leather.
  • It is usually very durable.
  • Uses include clothing, shoes, boots, and belts.

  • Calf skin A leather made from the hide of a
    calf.
  • The skin is soft and not as durable as cowhide.
  • It may show scratches and mars easily.
  • Uses include clothing and dress gloves.
