Purpose
- To foster communications between all stakeholders
- To facilitate the adoption and implementation of
the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food
Code - To promote food safety education.

ResponsibilitiesTHE TASK FORCE
- Is the governing body of Task Force Activities.
- Sets priorities and provides guidance for any
Task Force workgroup. - Is responsible for ensuring that the Task Force
has a clearly established direction and overseas
the progress in that direction. - Offers expert opinion and makes recommendations
to agencies on how federal, state and local food
safety agencies could work more effectively
together. - Provides recommendations that contribute to the
long-range goal of creating a seamless federal,
state and local food safety system. - Reviews all proposed workgroup activities and
products prior to sending them forward for
review. - Recommends short and long-term projects for
workgroups.

- Virginia Food Dealers Association is a trade
association representing the food industry of
Virginia. VFDA provides a strong voice for
grocers, convenience stores, specialty food
stores and other food industry companies before
Virginia legislative and regulatory agencies. In
now numbers owners of more than 4,000 food stores
of all sizes, among its membership, as well as
numerous wholesalers, brokers, manufacturers and
distribution centers. VFDA has been representing
the food industry of Virginia since 1938.
Besides representing the interests of its member,
the VFDA provides an wide variety of membership
services.
