  • 8 "Take the rod you and your brother Aaron
gather the congregation together. Speak to the
rock before their eyes, and it will yield its
water thus you shall bring water for them out of
the rock, and give drink to the congregation and
    their animals."
  • 9 So Moses took the rod from before the LORD as
    He commanded him.
  • 10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the
congregation together before the rock and he
said to them, "Hear now, you rebels! Must we
bring water for you out of this rock?

"Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in
the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you

house of my God than dwell in the tents of
    wickedness.
  • Notes

  • Korahs sons did not die in rebellion (Num 2611)

19
Titus 110-14 (NKJV)
  • 10 For there are many insubordinate, both idle
talkers and deceivers, especially those of the
circumcision, 11 whose mouths must be stopped,
who subvert whole households, teaching things
which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest
gain. 12 One of them, a prophet of their own,
said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts,
lazy gluttons." 13 This testimony is true.
Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be
sound in the faith, 14 not giving heed to Jewish
fables and commandments of men who turn from the
    truth.

Paul wanted these false prophets rebuked because
they were spreading lies about Gentile believers
in Crete!
20
Isaiah 403 (NKJ, KJV)
  • 3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness
"Prepare the way of the LORD make straight in

into a land that you do not know, neither you nor
your fathers and there you shall serve other
gods day and night, where I will not show you
    favor.'
  • 14 "Therefore behold, the days are coming," says
the LORD, "that it shall no more be said, 'The
LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel
    from the land of Egypt,'
  • 15 "but, 'The LORD lives who brought up the
children of Israel from the land of the north and
from all the lands where He had driven them.'
For I will bring them back into their land which
    I gave to their fathers.

  • 16 "Behold, I will send for many fishermen,"
says the LORD, "and they shall fish them and
afterward I will send for many hunters, and they
shall hunt them from every mountain and every
hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
  • 17 "For My eyes are on all their ways they are
not hidden from My face, nor is their iniquity
    hidden from My eyes.
  • 18 "And first I will repay double for their
iniquity and their sin, because they have defiled
My land they have filled My inheritance with the

Amos 41-3
  • 1 Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on
the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the poor,
who crush the needy, who say to your husbands,
    "Bring wine, let us drink!"
  • 2 The Lord GOD has sworn by His holiness
"Behold, the days shall come upon you when He
will take you away with fishhooks, and your
    posterity with fishhooks.
  • See also Ezek 1213 1720 Lam 352 Amos 91-4
    Hos 712

24
Amos 33
  • 1 Hear this word that the LORD has spoken against
you, O children of Israel, against the whole
family which I brought up from the land of Egypt,
    saying
  • 2 "You only have I known of all the families of
the earth therefore I will punish you for all
    your iniquities."
  • 3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?
  • 4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he has no
prey? Will a young lion cry out of his den, if he
    has caught nothing?
  • 5 Will a bird fall into a snare on the earth,
where there is no trap for it? Will a snare
spring up from the earth, if it has caught
    nothing at all?
  • 6 If a trumpet is blown in a city, will not the
people be afraid? If there is calamity in a city,
will not the LORD have done it?
  • 7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, unless He
reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.
  • 8 A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord
GOD has spoken! Who can but prophesy?
  • 3 Do two men walk together unless they have made
    an appointment? (NASB, RSV)

25
Luke 1726-30
  • 26 "And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will
be also in the days of the Son of Man
  • 27 "They ate, they drank, they married wives,
they were given in marriage, until the day that
Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and
    destroyed them all.
  • 28 "Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot
They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold,
    they planted, they built
  • 29 "but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it
rained fire and brimstone from heaven and
    destroyed them all.
  • 30 "Even so will it be in the day when the Son of
    Man is revealed.
  • 31 "In that day, he who is on the housetop, and
his goods are in the house, let him not come down
to take them away. And likewise the one who is in
the field, let him not turn back.
  • 32 "Remember Lot's wife.

26
Matthew 2436-44
  • 36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not
even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
  • 37 "But as the days of Noah were, so also will
the coming of the Son of Man be.
  • 38 "For as in the days before the flood, they
were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in
marriage, until the day that Noah entered the
    ark,
  • 39 "and did not know until the flood came and
took them all away, so also will the coming of
    the Son of Man be.
  • 40 "Then two men will be in the field one will
be taken and the other left.
  • 41 "Two women will be grinding at the mill one
will be taken and the other left.
  • 42 "Watch therefore, for you do not know what
    hour your Lord is coming.
  • 43 "But know this, that if the master of the
house had known what hour the thief would come,
he would have watched and not allowed his house
    to be broken into.
  • 44 "Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of
Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

27
Matthew 2627
  • And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it
to them, saying, Drink ye all of it (KJV)
  • He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to
them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you.
    (NKJ)
  • And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He
gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of
    you (NASB)

28
John 538-40 (KJV)
  • 38 And ye have not his word abiding in you for
whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
  • 39 Search the scriptures for in them ye think ye
have eternal life and they are they which
    testify of me.
  • 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have
    life.
  • 39 "You search the Scriptures, for in them you
think you have eternal life and these are they
    which testify of Me. (NKJ)

29
1 Corinthians 29
  • 6 However, we speak wisdom among those who are
mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of
the rulers of this age, who are coming to
    nothing.
  • 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery,
the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the
    ages for our glory,
  • 8 which none of the rulers of this age knew for
had they known, they would not have crucified the
    Lord of glory.
  • 9 But as it is written "Eye has not seen, nor
ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man
the things which God has prepared for those who
    love Him."

30
  • 10 But God has revealed them to us through His
Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes,
    the deep things of God.
  • 11 For what man knows the things of a man except
the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no
one knows the things of God except the Spirit of
    God.
  • 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the
world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we
might know the things that have been freely given
    to us by God.
  • 13 These things we also speak, not in words which
man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit
    teaches, comparing spiritual things with
    spiritual.
  • 14 But the natural man does not receive the
things of the Spirit of God, for they are
foolishness to him nor can he know them, because
    they are spiritually discerned.

31
2 Corinthians 1216 (NKJV)
  • 15 And I will very gladly spend and be spent for
your souls though the more abundantly I love
you, the less I am loved.
  • 16 But be that as it may, I did not burden you.
Nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you by
    cunning!
  • 2 Corinthians 1216 (NIV)
  • 16 Be that as it may, I have not been a burden to
you. Yet, crafty fellow that I am, I caught you
    by trickery!

Next Page!
32
2 Corinthians 1216 (RSV)
  • 16 But granting that I myself did not burden you,
I was crafty, you say, and got the better of you
    by guile.
  • 17 Did I take advantage of you through any of
those whom I sent to you?
  • 18 I urged Titus to go, and sent the brother with
him. Did Titus take advantage of you? Did we not
act in the same spirit? Did we not take the same
    steps?

33
2 Timothy 215 (KJV)
  • 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a
workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly
    dividing the word of truth.
  • 2 Timothy 215 (NASB)
  • 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to
God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed,
handling accurately the word of truth.
  • 16 But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it
    will lead to further ungodliness
  • Paul exhorts Timothy to diligently fulfill his
    office!
  • See also 1 Timothy 620-21

34
James 41-4
  • 1 Where do wars and fights come from among you?
Do they not come from your desires for pleasure
    that war in your members?
  • 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet
and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do
not have because you do not ask.
  • 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask
amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
  • 4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know
that friendship with the world is enmity with
God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of
the world makes himself an enemy of God. (NKJ)
  • Note James already developed that one whose
faith and works operate together is called the
    friend of God (223)

35
Revelation 138 (NKJV)
  • 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him,
whose names have not been written in the Book of
Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the
    world.
  • Revelation 138 (NASB, RSV)
  • 8 And all who dwell on the earth will worship
him, everyone whose name has not been written
from the foundation of the world in the book of
life of the Lamb who has been slain.

Revelation 178 (NKJV)
  • 8 "The beast that you saw was, and is not, and
will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to
perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will
marvel, whose names are not written in the Book
of Life from the foundation of the world, when
they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet
    is.

37
The slain lamb received his book in 55-7
  • 5 and one of the elders said to me, "Stop
weeping behold, the Lion that is from the tribe
of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as
to open the book and its seven seals."
  • 6 And I saw between the throne (with the four
living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing,
as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes,
which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into
    all the earth.
  • 7 And He came and took the book out of the right
hand of Him who sat on the throne. (NASU)

38
Titus 110-14 (NKJV)

talkers and deceivers, especially those of the
