Nicknames

• Do not choose any name that is rude or offensive
  as you will be ignored.
• Good nicknames consist of first names, initials,
  or hobbies and interests.

Greeting and initiating conversation

• When you enter a room, use a simple greeting to
  address everyone.
• Examples Good Morning or Hello Everyone
• If you get no response, ask a specific person a
  question.
• DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPS!!

Offensive Behavior

• When it occurs, ignore or block the offender.
• Resolve disagreements politely and calmly.
• Do not ask personal questions to other users.
• Use the same judgment that you would in
  face-to-face conversations.

Other Tips

• Welcome newcomers and offer assistance when
  asked.
• If you are the moderator, do not dominate the
  conversations. Let everyone be heard.
• Long messages should be typed in sections or sent
  privately.
