    its members and the healthcare and legal

    coast). Region III held the first meeting on
    September 28th in Laurel, MD.

    the second Directory was distributed the first
    local meeting organized by Sandy Berkowitz was
    held in Philadelphia on November 18th.

    Elizabeth Price signed the Articles of
    Incorporation which were notarized by a used car

OUTSTANDING ADVOCATE AWARD
  • TAANA established the Outstanding Advocate Award
    in 1985 to recognize an individual members
    outstanding legal advocacy. The Awards Committee
    recognizes that a nurse attorney can be an
    advocate in many varied ways, such as impacting
    legislation, authoring scholarly works such as
    law review articles, books, journal articles, as
    well as achieving significant rulings in
    appellate practice, trial practice, and
    administrative law practice (i.e. hearings before
    various state boards). The award is intended to
    give recognition to a member whose legal
    theories, strategies and abilities demonstrate
    outstanding advocacy.
