validation
4. Revise BPs based on WG comments re-circulate
5. Publish Best Practices on LLIS.gov

procedures, good ideas, or solutions that work
and are solidly grounded upon actual experience
in operations, training, and exercises.

- Subject-matter specialists and their contact
information - Related documents and publications
- Other Best Practices within the series
- Related websites
Best Practices are part of a series of documents
that examine a specific topic and link
the reader to additional
resources and information
7Lessons Learned Definition and Examples

experiencepositive or negativederived from
actual incidents such as the 1995 Oklahoma City
bombing and the 9/11 attacks as well as
observations and historical study of operations,
training, and exercises.

Regional Logistics Resource Team
- Context

logistics functions in the immediate response to
the Pentagon attack on 9/11. Fairfax County Fire
and Rescue Dept Logistics team stepped in to help
the ACFD organize, staff, and manage long-term
logistics functions throughout the operations.

department logisticians into a regional logistics
resource team that could augment the logistics
staff of the responsible jurisdiction in case of
a large-scale emergency.
