Admission procedure for Rheumatology Patients

• GP referral to Consultant
• Infusion booked by Consultants secretary
• Insurance pre-authorisation required for all
  patients if not self paying
• Phone call from Infusion nurse the week prior to
  planned infusion date.

• Admission directly to St Veronicas Ward
• Admitted by Infusion nurse, IV cannula sited and
  bloods taken.
• Rapid laboratory turnaround available approx 60
  90 minutes.
• For Aclasta infusion time in hospital approx 2
  hours.
