• Best method is word of mouth. Ask for referal
• Always add your link to any work
• Have a blog
• Avoid traditional advertising
• Specialise e.g. SEO
• Direct connect
• Do good work
• Do not pretend to be an agency, client like
  freelancers cheaper, less threatening, big fish

• Avoid pricing low
• Price guide
• Small jobs 1 a min.
• Daily 300
• Monthly consultancy 2000
• Brochure site 2000
• Dynamic site 3000
• Keep track of sales, simple excel sheet
• Have an accountant but learn this stuff yourself
• Always pay on time, do not mess people around
• Invoice as soon as the job is done, and chase
  clients politely

• Overheads walk on two legs avoid hiring anyone,
  outsource instead
• Be careful when outsourcing
• Speak plain English
• Play by the rules, do not steal clients. Know
  your place.
• Treat business as a separate entity

Beware the cabin fever. The outside world is your
friend...

• Tips on how to stay sane when working from home
• Great dressed
• Get out at least once a day/daily walk/coffee/pub
• Join social groups
• Meet up with friends
• Have a separate place to work
• Do not check your email after a certain time,
  e.g. 8pm
• Try to work fixed hours

• Generally you will be twice as efficient
