Crop Circles

• Crop circles are geometrical formations of
  flattened crops found in many countries but
  mainly in England. They have been found in wheat,
  barley, canola, rye, corn, linseed and soy.
• The phenomenon itself entered the public
  consciousness in its current form after notable
  appearances in England in the late 1970s. Various
  explanations were put forward to explain the
  phenomenon, which soon spread around the world.
  In 1991, two men, Doug Bower and Dave Chorley,
  revealed that they had been making crop circles
  in England since 1978 using planks, rope, hats
  and wire as their only tools. John Lundberg have
  been creating crop circles since the early 1990s.
  One source documents the process, creating a
  simple circle in around an hour.

Stonehenge

• Stonehenge is a Neolithic and Bronze Age
  megalithic monument located near Amesbury in the
  English county of Wiltshire, about 8 miles north
  of Salisbury. It is composed of earthworks
  surrounding a circular setting of large standing
  stones and is one of the most famous prehistoric
  sites in the world. Archaeologists think that the
  standing stones were erected between 2500 BC and
  2000 BC although the surrounding circular earth
  bank and ditch, which constitute the earliest
  phase of the monument, have been dated to about
  3100 BC. The site and its surroundings were also
  added as a legally protected Scheduled Ancient
  Monument. Stonehenge itself is owned and managed
  by English Heritage while the surrounding down
  land is owned by the National Trust.

Roswell

• The Roswell UFO incident involved the recovery of
  materials near Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947
  which have since become the subject of intense
  speculation and research. There are widely
  divergent views on what actually happened, and
  passionate debate about what evidence can be
  believed. The United States military maintains
  that what was recovered was a top-secret research
  balloon that had crashed. However, many UFO
  researchers believe the wreckage was of a crashed
  alien craft and that the military covered up the
  craft's recovery. The incident has evolved into a
  widely-recognized and referenced pop culture
  phenomenon, and, Roswell is synonymous with UFO
  and likely ranks as the most famous alleged UFO
  incident.

Project Blue Book

• Project Blue Book was one of a series of
  systematic studies of Unidentified flying objects
  (UFOs) conducted by the United States Air Force.
  Started in 1952, it was the second revival of
  such a study. A termination order was given for
  the study in December 1969, and all activity
  under its auspices ceased in January 1970.
• The goal of the Project Blue Book was to
  determine if UFOs were a potential threat to
  national security. Thousands of UFO reports were
  collected, analyzed and filed. As the result of
  the Condon Report, Project Blue Book was shut
  down in December 1969. This project was the last
  publicly known UFO research project led by the
  USAF.By the time Project Blue Book ended, it had
  collected 12,618 UFO reports, and concluded that
  most them were misidentifications of natural
  phenomena (clouds, stars, et cetera) or
  conventional aircraft. A few were considered
  hoaxes. 701 of the reportsabout six percentwere
  classified as unknown. The reports were archived
  and are available under the Freedom of
  Information Act, but names and other personal
  information of all witnesses have been redacted.
• Though many accepted Blue Book's final
  conclusions that there was nothing extraordinary
  about UFOs, critics have charged that Blue Book,
  especially in its later years, was engaging in
  dubious research, or even perpetuating a cover up
  of UFO evidence. Some evidence suggests that not
  only did some UFO reports bypass Blue Book
  entirely, but that the U.S. Government continued
  collecting and studying UFO reports after Blue
  Book had been discontinued, despite official
  claims to the contrary.

UFO Sightings

• 1235 - Kyoto, Japan September 24 General
  Yoritsume and his army watched many unusual
  lights in the sky for several hours.
• 1566 - Basel, Switzerland August 7 Black globes
  flooded the sky above the town of Basel. Theories
  today say it most likely was an atmospheric
  occurrence but some still doubt.
• 1802 - February 27, Prediger Fritsch saw in
  Quedlinburg a tiny spot crossing the sun in
  northwestern-direction and accelerated thereby.
• 1862 - March 20, Lummis, ingenieur of Manchester,
  saw transit of unknown object in front of the
  sun.
• 1942-45 - World War II UFO Sightings, UFO's and
  other unexplained aerial phenomena were sighted
  during World War II.
• 1953 - Ellsworth UFO Case UFO seen as a red
  glowing light and is witnessed by forty-five
  people in Bismarck, North Dakota. The sighting
  takes place over a two night period on August 5
  August 6.
• 1972 - Salt Lake City, Utah Daytime UFO appears
  on tourist photograph as he took pictures of the
  city skyline, when he find a bright round object
  travels over him in the sky.
• 2002 - China, mysterious light-emitting UFO was
  seen by many Chinese. It flew over Jiangsu,
  Henan, Xiaxi, and Sichuan. The object, as the
  Chinese media reported, appear in various shapes,
  such as like a flaming arrow and a spiral.

• Area 51 (currently known as Air Force Flight Test
  Center, Detachment 3 and also known as Dreamland,
  Watertown Strip, Paradise Ranch, The Box, Groom
  Lake) is a remote tract of land in southern
  Nevada, owned by the United States Air Force,
  containing an airfield whose primary purpose is
  the secret development and testing of new
  military aircraft. It is famed as the subject of
  many UFO conspiracy theories.
