• Historically there has been tension between
  psychology and Christianity.
• Why?
• Bad public image
• It is irrelevant
• Methods are not good
• Too many special interests

Four Proposals

• Scrap Psychology altogether.
• Keep the Status Quo.
• Get to a radical change.
• Keep refining what psychology is doing.

Todays Situation

• There are Christians who are Psychologists.
• And there is a group who are trying to develop a
  true Christian Psychology.

Defining Christian Psychology

• Core Belief 1.
• GOD exists and is the SOURCE of ALL TRUTH.
• He is Triune.
• We know His Traits. (all the omnis)
• We know His Nature. (Will, Love, Light)

• GOD created HUMANS in HIS IMAGE.
• We are patterned after His Nature.
• Everyone has the capacity for spiritual matters.
• We exist for something bigger and we need to know
  what that is.

Gods Nature

• Gods Will shows us His Mind and His Wisdom.
• Gods Love shows us His Goodness and His
  Emotional side.
• Gods Light shows us His Truth.

Jesus Nature

• Jesus Will shows us obedience.
• Jesus Love shows us sacrifice.
• Jesus Light shows us life.

Holy Spirits Nature

• The Holy Spirit guides us to Gods Will and
  Wisdom and empowers us to obey.
• The Holy Spirit energizes us to love in the
  agape way, that only He can do and where
  sacrifice is done.
• The Holy Spirit is Gods Light IN US and thus we
  know Truth and live Life.

  those emotions.
• LIGHT our spirit and our living

• Spiritbelief and purpose (faith level)
