• A place on-line where you can communicate with
  others in real time
• Parents can be held financially responsible for
  cyberbullying harm caused by their child
• Anything posted on the Internet can be retrieved,
  even if erased
• A series of letters, numbers, or symbols used to
  log you into a computer system
• Following certain rules or manners while on-line
  (CAPS)
• Someone who uses lies, secrecy, or stealth to get
  close enough to someone to harm them

Stay Safe

• Keep personal information private
• Dont open email from people you dont know
• Never agree to meet someone you met on-line
• Use neutral, non-gender screen names
• Dont tell anyone your password (not even best
  friends!)
• If an email or website makes you feel
  uncomfortable, tell an adult

Cyberbullying

• Cyberbullying Cyber bullies are people who
  enjoy repeatedly being mean to others on-line.
  This can happen through texting, emails, bulletin
  boards, chat sites, or even building a website
  just to make fun of someone.

What if you are Cyberbullied?

• Tell a trusted adult
• Dont open or read messages by Cyber Bullies
• Dont reply to text messages may print IM
• Block the bully through Internet Service Provider
• If you are threatened, inform the police

How to Help Prevent Cyberbullying

• Dont provide private information
• Use Netiquette while on-line
• Dont send messages when you are angry
• Dont open messages from people you dont know
• Dont tolerate this behavior even from friends
• When something doesnt seem right, it probably
  isnt trust your gut and get out of the site,
  chat etc.
