  • Jigsaw Activity for Hamlet

Philosophy
  • Study of the rational truths of nature, being and
    conduct.
  • Personal philosophy - each of us decides how we
    are going to approach life and its challenges
  • What is your philosophy on revenge?

Revenge Step One
  • JOIN the group according to the NUMBER on your
    hand.
  • TAKE a copy of the handout from the folder and
    read it to yourself or quietly aloud to your
    group.
  • Mark items that you agree with or disagree with,
    or items that make you think.

Step Two
  • CREATE a Frayer Model note sheet with REVENGE as
    the center word.
  • DISCUSS with your group, the important points
    from your handout.

Step Three
  • WRITE down the highlights of your groups
    discussion in the top left hand section of your
    Frayer. Be sure to label the section with your
    articles , essays , or storys title.
  • LIMIT your highlights to 5-6 important points.
  • RAISE your hand if you have questions.

Step Four - JIGSAW
  • MOVE to the group that matches the LETTER on your
    hand take your Frayer notes with you.
  • SHARE VERBALLY (one at a time) with your group
    the highlights from your reading.

Step Four Part II
  • JOT DOWN the interesting facts, quotes,
    definitions you hear from each persons summary.
  • USE a new Frayer section for each speaker, and be
    sure to put the title of the piece at the top of
    each square.

Step Five
  • READ over your notes on revenge.
  • IDENTIFY the ways in which your notes relate to
    your own thoughts on revenge.
  • CIRCLE the notes that reflect your views.

Assessment
  • WRITE your revenge philosophy based on your
    feelings beliefs.
  • SUPPORT your position with references from TWO of
    the reading pieces.

  • Evidence of careful thought in sentence
    construction, revision, and editing.
