The old man loves only two things in his life

her. Pg. 29

Head
The old man dreams of proud lions, beaches, and
his childhood.
He only dreamed of places now and lions on
the beach the played like young cats in the
dusk. Pg. 25

Africa and white beaches. Pg. 24

badly enough. Pg. 70
But are you strong enough for a truly Big fish?
I think so and there are many tricks. Pg. 23

said but I know many tricks and have
resolution. Pg. 23

but he does not care about it.
They sat on the terrace and many of the
fisherman made fun of the old man but he did not
get angry. Pg 11
If others heard me talking out loud they would
think that I am crazy He said aloud but since I
am not crazy I do not care. Pg 39

Eyes
The old man is affected by many of the things he
sees.
He remembered the time he when he hooked a pair
of Marlin, the male fish always let the female
feed first and the hooked fish (the female) made
a wild panic stricken despairing fight and was
soon exhausted and all of the time stayed with
her. Pg. 49
