4
Transforming Lives
  • Topics discussed in Transforming Lives Ministry
  • Biblical Basis of Inner Transformation
  • We will look at Gods fundamental laws that are
absolute and eternal. Four major laws of God will
be explained and how they adversely affect us
    when they are broken.

5
Transforming Lives
  • Basic Trust
  • Basic trust is the foundational building block
for all human relationships. Without basic trust
our human development is hindered. Learn how to
acquire basic trust as an adult and be able to
relate well with others and yourself

6
Transforming Lives
  • Bitter Roots
  • Bitter root judgments are powerful unconscious
forces that are behind patterns of trouble and
destruction in our lives. These bitter roots are
for the most part outside of our awareness but
continue to sabotage us in our relationship with
    God and others.

7
Transforming Lives
  • Forgiveness, repentance and restitution
  • We will learn how resentments are lodged in our
heart and how they affect us through sowing and
reaping. Forgiveness is necessary, along with
repentance, if we are to free ourselves from
    destructive behavioral habit patterns.
Repentance can be either soulish or Davidic,
which is true sorrow for grieving the Lord. We
look at restitution, Gods way to help us come to
full repentance, restore trust in relationships.

8
Transforming Lives
  • Honoring Father and Mother
  • The law of honoring affects our lives more
powerfully than we realize. It is a commandment
of God with a promise, that life will go well
    with you.

9
Transforming Lives
  • Our Image of God
  • Our image of God is distorted. Many times we put
our father or mothers face on God, since our
parents were our first gods. What they said was
    the gospel truth.
  • And None of us had perfect parents. We will
learn how we can see God more clearly.

10
Transforming Lives
  • Performance Orientation
  • Performance orientation is a problem for most of
us. Performance is what was required of us as
children. We were rewarded when we got good
grades in school and conversely were punished
when our grades were poor. Early on, we knew that
the only we will be loved and accepted is when we
please others, including ourselves. This is the
basis of compulsive behavioral patterns, work
alcoholism and others kinds of compulsive
behaviors in our attempt to be loved and accepted.

11
Transforming Lives
  • Inner Vows and Heart of Stone
  • Inner vows are promises made to ourselves early
in life and then often forgotten. They become
directives that control our responses to
situations and people around us. It is out of our
inner vows that a heart of stone is formed.

12
Transforming Lives
  • Parental Inversion
  • Parental inversion describes the false identity
children take on when a parent is unable or
unwilling to fulfill his/her parental role. The
parentally inverted child will carry the weight
of care and responsibility meant for father and
    mothers.

13
Transforming Lives
  • Distorted Love
  • When we demand love and acceptance, we are
distorting the meaning of love. Distorted love
demands that others love us the way we expect.
Our expectations we place on others is usually
self-centered and focused on what we can get
rather than what we can offer others. Distorted
love is unregenerate love, denying ourselves the
full joy in giving and receiving true love.

  • Personal Strongholds when

17
Transforming Lives Personal Strongholds
  • when we got good grades in school and conversely
were punished when our grades were poor. Early
on, we knew that the only we will be loved and
accepted is when we please others, including
ourselves. This is the basis of compulsive
behavioral patterns, work holism and others kinds
of compulsive behaviors in our attempt to be
    loved and accepted.

18
Transforming Lives contd
  • Strongholds are deeply embedded thought patterns
that are formidable obstacles to the healing
process. Strongholds have a life of their own.
They prevent us from cutting free from unhealthy
dependencies and from becoming the people whom
God plans for us to be.

19
Transforming Lives Denial
  • We often live in denial resulting from past
painful experiences. The root causes of denial
will be explained and ways we can break through
the wall of denial. We will look at several
    denial systems.

20
Transforming Lives Relationship of emotions and
feelings
  • Who is in charge, you or your feelings? We will
examine the role of emotions and feelings and how
we unconsciously use them to sabotage us in our
    relationships.

21
Transforming Lives Prenatal and Childhood Issues
  • We will look at our life with our mothers womb
and see how it is possible we could have been
wounded and its affects on us today. We are given
a personal spirit at conception. Through their
spirit, and with the propensity to sin because of
their sin nature, children may react wrongly in
the womb to circumstance of the parents. We also
will discuss abortion and offer God-given ways to
help from those who suffer the pain and guilt
    from abortion.

22
Transforming Lives Emotional Abuse
  • Arbitrary, inconsistent, or abusive parental
discipline can damage the emotional well-being
and security of the child. We will examine this
    issue at length.

23

  • Change and loss are part of life
  • We grieve change and loss. Some loses are hard to
bare. Every loss is a very personal experience.
  • No two people experience loss in exactly the same
    way.
  • The natural healing response to loss is a process
    we call grief.

25
Grief and Loss
  • We experience loss and grieve through different
stages. We move backward and forward through
    various grief experiences.
  • God promises to be with us and heal us through
all of our experiences however painful and
    tragic.
  • Are you willing to allow God to heal you? Are you
willing move on to become whole and complete?
